19/10/10♥

Today we have been starting to plan out our shoe, we did mind maps and gathered pictures off the internet to make a collage of pictures to give us ideas to choose from, we have decided to make a 'high heeled hi-top' which is bacically a mix betweena high heel and a hi-top (trainer). We decided to do this because its different and new, we havent yet decided exactly whats gonna go on it but we have got plenty of ideas for that yet.

Also today we have been working on our campaign work the 'British Red Cross' charity, to raise awareness we are going to be designing posters, leaflets, radio & T.V interviews/adverts. To promote this charity and also get people thinking about donating their clothes, we are going to hang the posters around the school which should catch our biggest target audience which are the kids, the posters should be bold&bright therefore eye catching for children. But we are also producing leaflets and radio&tv adverts which can be aimed for the audience of teenagers&adults. This is also going to pursuade them to think of buying from the store, if we get any donations we will make sure we check through the clothes so there is no rubbish that the charity shop will have to pay to get rid of. In drama we have began our short T.V play about the British Red Cross, we have got into groups of roughly 5 and in this group we have started to plan a tv advert that would be suitable to get the message across, bearing in mind the target audience we have aimed this at which will be children-teenagers mostly...it has to be clear&easy for them to understand otherwise they wont get the point of our play, the message we really want to send is to show them the importance of our charity 'The Red Cross' and what it does, why they should donate, how their donations are gonna help, and what they get out of doing it :)

Trip to Open♥

Last Tuesday we had a trip to Open in Norwich to learn about other people in the creative and media industry, when we got there we were led into a hall were we sat and watched groups of people take centre stage and talk about there jobs and how they got into them, where they went to school/college/university... and what their doing now. Each group had a different subject related to their jobs, these are the subjects we were talked to about... Performance, Dance, Animation and Design graphics. each person in the group took turn to stand up and give roughly a 10-15minute talk about themselves, most of the people had presentations to show as well. I found that the day was a bit long because they didn't involve us much apart from us asking them questions, it was all sit and listen no practical which would of made things more interesting. Some of the subjects wouldn't be for me so it did not grab my attention although a few of them i hadn't really heard much about before so listening to what its about made me take a bit of an interest in it that i didn't before i came.
However i did learn from these speech's and not all of them were for me but i was especially impressed by the performance one, i was interested in everything they said, it gave me some tips for my future, and also ideas of what routes to take options i could do.
So i guess overall it was a successful trip :).

Campaign visit.♥

A few weeks ago i contacted the 'Red Cross Charity shop' to see if it was possible to arrange a visit soon to ask some questions for our project and to just look around to take pictures&get information...we had to make sure we spoke clearly on the phone and explain who we are and why we want to visit, the workers told us it was fine to visit in 2 weeks time...i was first of all nervous because i haven't done anything like this before, but after i got going it turned out fine as the worker was very pleasant :)

today me Holly & Ellie visited the Red Cross charity shop we went in and asked if we could maybe take some pictures and do an interview, the manager agreed and took us to an upstairs office where we sat round a table and he passed us some leaflets which will be useful for us to have. Next we started the interview (which we have filmed and have all the questions provided on that film) and we told him about all the things we would offer to help like getting people in our local schools to donate clothing or areas in which he needs items like toys, games etc... He thought it would be a good idea, then we also talked about sorting through the clothing so all the items we bring will be in good condition to sell, and that we would be putting on a fashion show just to prove how good the clothes are and to maybe help the charity into selling these. Lastly we just asked him some questions about the shop and what red cross does, i learnt that in every emergency the red cross always sends down an extra van which provides clothes and blankets which i thought was quite interesting. It was another successful visit.

Artefact visit♥

Today we visited Hemstocks jewellers in Wyndoham and in a group we did an interview with the workers there, i filmed the interview with the camcorder, whilst the others in my group asked the questions, we asked What age group the shop is for?, What sort of things they sell?, When did Hemstocks start?, Who they get there jewellery off?...questions like that. We alsdo took some pictures of the shop which would be usefull to add to our blogs. One thing we forgot to ask was about the shoe we will be designing to be on display in the shop. Although the workers in the shop were quite busy. overall it was a successful visit.
